Honda is known the world over for its fuel-efficient and technologically advanced vehicles, but now it wants to be known as an automaker best known for its safety. Honda engineering brings a sophisticated level of sporty handling and safety to its passenger cars, in line with the Company's "Safety for Everyone" commitment. Honda’s safety initiative includes airbag innovation, pedestrian protection, collision compatibility, active and passive safety features.

According to the AIADA newsletter, Honda is offering standard front and side-curtain air bags and antilock brakes on most of its models, in keeping with its "safety for everybody" campaign. Eight Honda vehicles, ranging from the CR-V sport utility to the Odyssey minivan, are among the safest cars on the road, with five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in front and side crash tests. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) also highly ranks these vehicles on a variety of crash tests.
